We headed up to the cheese shop, and had lunch outdoors, it was a beautiful setting. Earlier we had visited the Honey Centre, where we had to de-sensitise Krissie and Dylan before they could even look at the bee colonies through the glass!
Fraser checking out the ducks!
On the way home we popped into a Farmers' Market, where we just missed a Bluegrass Band playing. I got chatting to them as they were packing up, and this is the closest I've been to a musical instrument since leaving home!
Walking home from the shops.....it's a hard life, y'know!
The cheese board ready for supper. The honey-based mead was lovely, and I don't usually like mead, too sweet and medicinal-tasting!
I've had a bit of a job trying to upload photographs to facebook while away down at Otorohanga, where Jim and I spent five days exploring a bit more of NZ. And it hasn't been easy doing this blog-post either, so I will make it short and post again when we get back to Orewa tomorrow.
WOW..... what a wonderful time you are having, I wondered why you'd been quiet in the last few days, I'm sure a blog is the right place to record you holiday as it happens, I am surprised you didn't take a fiddle or melodion with you. When mine were little, we bought a tiny toy accordion to take on holiday with us, we couldn't fit the full sized one in the car! not with 4 children and everything else for a two week holiday! Looking forward to more of your photos soon :)

Sue, there's no way I could put an instrument in the hold, they toss it about too much! And the melodeon is too heavy and bulky for cabin luggage....so that's why I am bereft!
DeleteThe wifi connection at the place we went to stay was a bit dodgy so my blogging was severely curtailed. I now have to catch up with all my photos! Lx
Hi Lynne, looks like your having a fab time! :) x
ReplyDeleteYep, it continues! Lx
DeleteHello Lynne, I looks like you are having a wonderful holiday. I have a friend who is going to Norway to visit family. I ask her if she was taking her accordion and she said no, because the last time she took it they dismantled it at customs. I had never thought of that . . . she says that there might be a family member that has one there that she can play . . . otherwise she'll be missing it, too. Your instrument becomes such a part of who you are :)
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful seeing your holiday photos and knowing that you are having a great time:)
Enjoy!!!
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
Hi Connie, yes, it's a bit of a risk I think taking instruments. Now if I played the flute..........! Lxx
DeleteHope you are having an amazing time! Oh for the warmth - it's just started snowing here again in Norfolk!
